Pizza and bakery specialist, Dr. Oetker Professional will once again be firing up its pizza ovens for this year’s LACA – The Main Event exhibition with a tasting of it new and improved Balanced Choice Pizza. A great source of fibre, the new pizza contains a hidden vegetable sauce to help schools boost the nutrition of their dishes with a little help from the nation’s favourite frozen pizza brand*. Delegates visiting stand M13 will get to sample the new pizza and speak with the education partner, which was recently awarded the Soil Association’s Food for Life Served Here accreditation. Talking about the launch, Richard Cooper, Senior Brand Manager, Dr. Oetker Professional (UK) said: “Our new and improved Balanced Choice Pizza has been a long time in the making. We’ve worked closely with LEAs and caterers to produce a pizza that supports a variety of food standards, but children will also enjoy eating. We’re excited that the day has finally arrived to launch what we believe is an important and positive step in using lunchtime favourites to get more vegetables and nutrients in pupils’ diets”. With tomatoes, onions, carrots and red peppers blended into the sauce, the Balanced Choice Pizza brings the quality of Chicago Town pizzas to schools with a product pupils know and want. Supporting school food guidelines by keeping fat and saturated fat levels to a minimum, the new and improved pizza still maintains its legendary takeaway taste thanks to its unique raw dough base that rises in the oven.
